Honoring the foundation of Fender's electric sound, the Dale Wilson Builder Select '54 Blackguard Esquire pays tribute to the instrument that turned the music world on its head. This guitar's secret weapon is the 'Full-Throttle' Esquire wiring that bypasses all controls in Position 1, going straight to the jack for hot-rodded, no-holds-barred solo tone. The sturdy quartersawn maple neck sports an authentic 'Nocaster®' "U"-shaped profile for traditional playing feel while the 7.5"-9.5" compound radius fingerboard provides a comfortable platform for chords and single-note playing alike. Other classic features include a hand wound 'BC' single-coil pickup, original-style Esquire bridge with brass barrel saddles and single-ply parchment pickguard. For even more tonal (and aesthetic) flexibility we also provide a Two-Pickup '55 Whiteguard conversion kit that adds a single-coil neck pickup, white pickguard and modern Tele® wiring. Includes a center-pocket tweed hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
