Chicago Music Exchange Chicago Special 1960 Stratocaster® Lush Closet Classic, Rosewood Fingerboard, Aged Olympic White
More about Chicago Music Exchange Chicago Special 1960 Stratocaster®
The early-1960s were a period of great innovation, so at Chicago Music Exchange we honored the spirit of the era with our Fender® Custom Shop Chicago Special 1960 Stratocaster®. By adding a touch of functional modern with a 9.5" radius and the Fender Half Blender, which allows blending the neck pickup in the 1st and 2nd position via the first tone knob, this Strat® starts all classic but keeps an open mind to what guitarists demand in performance. We carefully chose a rift sawn maple neck to ajoin with the era-integral slab rosewood fretboard, specified to sort for the dark of course, to enhance the instrument's resonance and beauty in parallel. The namesake Chicago Special pickups were created in collaboration with Fender's VP of Product Development Mike Lewis during our frequent visits to Corona and were thoughtfully designed to encapsulate the classic and unmistakeable feeling found on recordings made in the city of Chicago in the '50s and '60s. To achieve a balanced output across every pole piece, the Alnico 5 magnets are wrapped in 42 gauge enamel wire and potted in shellac, reacreating the round highs, and wide open frequency range of original pickups at the time. If you're searching an early '60s Strat that honors history but with a few tricks under the hood, Chicago Music Exchange has done the heavy lifting - look no further.
